Earn up to $10,000 per co-op work term

The full-time jobs you get during your co-op work terms allow you to get a head start on your career – and make good money at the same time. With an average hourly wage of $14.60 for the first work term and $18.80 for the second and third work terms, co-op students can earn up to $10,000 per four-month, full-time work term. Co-op graduates can also expect to earn $3000 to $4000 more per year than their non co-op friends.

The Bachelor of Informatics Co-op Program consists of 40 one-term courses and 3 co-op terms. The electives chosen will depend on the major chosen. For example, if your major is Software then you require several courses such as CSCI 2110 and CSCI 2132.

Is there a fee for co-op?
Yes. You pay a program fee for each 4-month work term you do. Find out more.
To be admitted into the Bachelor of Computer Science Co-op Program, what requirements do I need to meet?
The co-op is optional for CS students.
If you are taking a Bachelor of Computer Science you must be in good academic standing and either enrolled in or completed:
- CSCI 2100 (Communications Skills: Oral and Written)
- CSCI 2110 (Computer Science III)
- CSCI 2132 (Software Development)
- CSCI 2141 (Introduction to Database Systems)
You must also have completed one full-credit course, or two half-credit courses (such as CSCI 1615 and CSCI 1616), that meet the first year English/Writing requirement and you must complete the New Student Professional Development Workshop offered by the Dalhousie Technical Co-op Office.
To be admitted into the Bachelor of Informatics Co-op Program, what requirements do I need to meet?

- INFX 2640 (Introduction to Database Systems)
You must also have completed one full-credit course, or two half-credit courses(such as CSCI 1615 and CSCI 1616), that meet the English/Writing requirement and you must complete the New Student Professional Development Workshop offered by the Dalhousie Technical Co-op Office.
Bachelor of Informatics students must complete three works terms and eight academic terms.
