It offers graduate degrees in Computer Science, Electronic Commerce, Health Informatics and Bioinformatics, the latter three in collaboration with the Faculties of Law / Management, Medicine and Science respectively.
Collaborating with Industry
In Dalhousie’s Faculty of Computer Science, we strive to bring the real world to the classroom and the classroom to the real world through mutually-beneficial industry partnerships.
Undergraduates in the co-op program gain important, hands-on experience working in some of Canada’s leading tech companies. We also collaborate regularly with industry to ensure our curriculum reflects industry needs. That means our graduates enter the workforce with in-demand skills. We are currently collaborating with industry to design and deliver streams of concentrations that are highly-relevant to industry needs.
As a research intensive faculty, much of our research is conducted in close collaboration with industry --locally, nationally and internationally. We also value the strategic insight we receive from working with our Faculty of Computer Science Industry Advisory Board, representing a variety of industries -- from the local area and around the world. Partnered research includes such projects as network security, graphical visualization of large data sets, knowledge management for the Dalhousie-based Ocean Tracking Network, clinical decision support systems for medicine, and many others.
