Graduate Scholarships
Supporting you in your discoveries
All doctoral and thesis masters (MCS) students applying for admission are automatically considered for financial support, which comes in the form of research and teaching assistantships. There are also a large number of scholarship opportunities available specifically for computer science graduate students.
International doctoral students also benefit from our support– the Faculty of Computer Science will pay the international portion of your tuition fees, lowering your costs significantly.
Tuition is waived for students with NSERC or Killam Scholarships
If you are a new doctoral student holding NSERC (PGS-D or CGS-D) funding or a Killam Scholarship, your tuition fees be waived for the first two years of study, or as long as you are paying full fees. Tuition is also waived for Masters of Computer Science students holding NSERC (PGS-M or CGS-M) or Killam Scholarships.

Already in the workforce?
We encourage applications from people already in the workforce. Applicants with substantial work experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the Graduate Committee for admission as part-time graduate students. Supporting materials that demonstrate technical excellence and achievements – such as patent documents, technical reports and professional honours – must be submitted along with the application.
