Jeff Allen

Jeff is responsible for maintaining the Faculty's enterprise Solaris and Mac OS X servers. His responsibilities include operating system maintenance, software installation and configuration, hardware support, storage management, and data backup. He has managed to bend the tape backup system to his will and has actually vacuumed the server room.
Jeff graduated from TUNS in 2000 with a Bachelor of Computer Science degree. Since then he has been working full-time as a UNIX systems administrator within the Faculty. Prior to graduating he spent two work-terms at the Communications Security Establishment in Ottawa and one work term at the Faculty of Computer Science Help Desk where he assisted in the Faculty's relocation from the Maritime Centre to the Computer Science building.
