Bio:

Anne was born and raised in Halifax and has lived here all her life. She attended Dalhousie University, receiving a BSC degree (Biology) and a BA degree (Geology). Soon after graduation, Anne pursued training in office skills, and by doing so, found her niche. Upon completion of her secretarial diploma, she decided to specialize in the legal field.

Anne was hired by a Halifax law firm, completing her legal secretarial diploma while working. After a year, she entered the employ of the most active land developer in the province, where she stayed for over nine years. This company was affiliated with a number of other enterprises (approximately 15 separate companies) which provided a range of opportunities, challenges and experiences over nine years in the areas of land development, condominium management, residential and commercial leasing, a laundromat & dry cleaning business and an exotic used car dealership. Within a year of joining this company, Anne was given her choice of prestigious promotions: either the assistant to the accountant or the personal assistant to the President. Anne chose to venture into accounting area and within two years became the accountant for the suite of companies. The land development company expanded to Toronto and upon the permanent return of the President to Nova Scotia a few years later, he promptly requested Anne to take upon the role of his personal administrative assistant, as well as assistant to the Development Manager.

In 1996 Anne joined the School of Computer Science at the Technical University of Nova Scotia (TUNS). She has been with Computer Science ever since, seeing the School transformed into a Faculty upon amalgamation between TUNS and Dalhousie University in 1997.
