About Computer Science
Put the next big discovery in your own hands

At Dalhousie, you won’t just learn to program or install the next generation of iPhone, Wii or Internet security software, you’ll actually develop the skills and knowledge to go beyond that – to be an inventor and innovator.
Here, you’ll find an amazing variety of courses, exploring everything from Internet security and privacy issues to how people interact with technology in the healthcare sector. You’ll learn in an environment where leading-edge research takes place on a daily basis; where small class sizes, hands-on labs with world-class researchers, and amazing co-op placements will introduce you to a whole new world.

Study, work and play alongside award-winning profs
You’ll soon be on a first-name basis with your computer science profs, many of whom teach first-year classes. When they’re not teaching, many are conducting life-changing research and, when they’re not in the classroom or the lab, faculty members often participate in the Computer Science Society’s social events. Our students love the tight-knit, family feel that comes with learning and socializing alongside profs.
